“Rain, Hail or Shine …fire, flood or storm”

– the history of the Freemans Reach Rural Fire Brigade, by Bruce Earle

As part of the Freemans Reach Brigade’s 60th Anniversary celebrations, the history, memoirs, photos, stories and tales have been brought together and released in a new book.

‘Rain, Hail or Shine’ is a 72-page, full-colour book written by current Captain, Bruce Earle. It features the timeline of events since the Brigade’s founding in 1951 until the present day, the major fires and incidents that the Brigade has encountered over the years, and pays tribute to each of the Brigades Captains and Life Members.

Also featured are light-hearted accounts of the many tales and stories across the sixty years of the brigade to 2012.

Add to this over fifty colour photos reflecting on the people, vehicles and places, plus a complete honour board featuring every single position and the member who has held these positions since 1951, ‘Rain, Hail or Shine’ is a thorough recollection of the Freemans Reach Rural Fire Brigade.

‘Rain, Hail or Shine’ is available for sale from the Brigade for $20, with all proceeds after expenses going to the Freemans Reach Brigade. Contact Bruce Earle on 0412 583 492, or by email to order your copy.

(Website Editor’s note:- Fantastic sales were made during the 60th Anniversary dinner on the 21st April 2012. If you’re going to purchase a copy, or copies, then act now as this is strictly a single edition. It’s an excellent record of the brigade and local history, with never-before-seen photos – congratulations to Bruce Earle and everyone involved in this book!)
