Hawkesbury Model Air Sports Flying – Open Day 2014

It is now only 4 weeks until the annual open day event at the Hawkesbury Model Air Sports flying field at Vineyard. For those who are unaware, we looked after the Gate, Parking and Catering last year. For those who were there, I thank you for your effort on the day. I also understand that we were under a fair bit of pressure considering it was the first time we tackled this type of challenge on this scale.

Overall it was a success and the brigade as a whole was complimented by the committee of the Flying Club, hence we have been asked to run with the same tasks this year. We have been able to ramp things up a bit this year with regard to a mobile cool room, a large mobile BBQ trailer, & a generator that could run several small houses; all thanks to the NSW body of Model Flying.

I would like to like to remind all our members that this is one of two of our major fundraisers for the year. Last year, with the funds raised, we were able to purchase new fireground & UHF Radios for the PC, among other equipment. To me personally, it was easy to justify the outlay for this essential equipment, considering the funds that we have raised at the Brigade, thanks due to the efforts of our members at these major events.

So if you could spare any time over the weekend of the 4th & 5th of October it would be greatly appreciated. Keeping in line with the All Holden Day we have decided to ask members if they could do either an AM or PM shift, or possibly the whole day if available. Morning tea & hot lunch will be provided by the Brigade (no Subway allowed at this gig!).

If you are available for any shifts over the weekend, could you please advise either myself or Sharon.

Also please keep in mind that Sunday is the busier of the two days, so we will need more hands on deck that day.

If you need further info feel free to call me.
