Freemans Reach Rural Fire Brigade

RFS Hawkesbury District

Fires in the Hawkesbury District, 22nd Oct 2013

With rain showers passing over the Sydney basin today temperatures have dropped over the fires in the Hawkesbury, but the sound of choppers and waterbombers occasionally breaks the atmosphere. Freemans Reach brigade crews have been on standby (home and station) over the last 2 days but with the extreme conditions due tomorrow over the fireground everyone’s ready to go, and crews are being contacted. Captain Earle is heading up the hill as a DivCom overnight to the Bilpin area. Reach 1 is clean, stocked, maintained and ready to go.

Tomorrow – Wednesday – is still being predicted as possibly one of the worst days in a decade for fire danger so we’re ready.

Please keep an. eye on the main RFS website for the latest details for the Hawkesbury and other areas. NOW is the time for all residents to double-check their Bushfire Survival Plans.
